Fifth Voice Post: Five Weeks on T

this is an audio post - click to play

Definitely a difference. I was singing earlier, too; about an octave below where I used to be able to. J was harmonizing and I was able to hear where the resonance in my voice has gotten similar to his. Of course he was singing near the top of his chest voice and I was singing near the bottom of mine, but still...

You got an octave?

Damn ... I'm seven weeks on T, and all I've got to show for it is a measly fourth.

:-P

Wow, congrats!! ^^!! It really does sound different. :D Neat. Hmm, with your voice dropping really fast, do you think that's because ultimately you'll have a lower voice [as in, perhaps a bit more bass than tenor], or that your body is just reacting faster?

Well-- A lot of that has to do with the way I used to sing and talk, and how much diaphragmic restriction I had from the sheer tension of hating my voice (which naturally made it worse). I don't think I've actually developed an octave more in real range, just that I can now sing an octave lower for various reasons. If that makes any sense.

And, I have no idea how it'll turn out. After tearing it up so much last night at LARP, I'm squeaking today.

Oh-- and also, Zev, I read the same article you did and I think you're really smart for going slow with your voice. So good on you and be proud of that fourth.

Awww. *pat-pat* Well, um, at least sluagh don't do anything above a whisper. ^^; That's crack for you though.

The Traditional Medicinals Lemon Echinacea throat coat tea is really nice, and there are singer's teas available, which I think I told you about. They'd probably ease the troubles you're having.

*hugs* Be sparkly!!
